Privacy Policy – NamazAthanQibla

Last updated: [DATE]

This Privacy Policy explains how [GNSAC Bilişim Teknolojileri Ltd. Şti.] (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the NamazAthanQibla mobile application (the “App”).

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. About the App

NamazAthanQibla helps users:

  • View daily prayer times based on their location

  • Receive prayer time notifications / athan

  • Find the Qibla direction

  • Listen to Qur’an recitations that are loaded from JSON/audio sources

The App does not require you to create an account or log in. We do not ask you to enter your name, email address, or other contact details inside the App.

2. Data We Collect

The App itself collects a limited set of data, mainly to provide core functionality and to support analytics and advertising.

2.1 Location Data

  • Precise location (GPS, Wi-Fi, or network-based)

    • Used to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your current position.

    • Location data is processed on your device and used only for this purpose.

    • We do not create a movement history or store precise GPS coordinates on our own servers.

You can always disable location access in your device settings. If you do so, some features (such as automatic prayer times or Qibla direction) may not work or may require manual location input.

2.2 Device Identifiers

  • Device ID / Advertising Identifier (IDFA) / Vendor ID

    • Used to:

      • Show and measure in-app advertising (e.g., banner ads),

      • Perform basic analytics (e.g., how often the App is opened, which screens are used),

      • Prevent fraud and abuse.

These identifiers can be treated as personal data under certain laws because they can relate to a specific device or user over time.

2.3 Usage Data (Product Interaction)

We may collect information about how you interact with the App, such as:

  • Screens and features you use

  • Buttons you tap

  • Time and duration of sessions

  • Subscription purchase events and status (successful/failed, active/expired)

This data is generally aggregated and used to understand which features are used and how we can improve the App.

2.4 Automatically Collected Technical Data

Through the App or through Apple / third-party SDKs, we may receive:

  • Device model, operating system version, language and region settings

  • App version and installation source

  • Basic diagnostics or crash information (if enabled on your device)

3. Data We Do

Not

 Intentionally Collect

  • We do not ask you to provide your real name, email, phone number, or address inside the App.

  • We do not collect contact lists, photos, messages, or microphone recordings.

  • We do not collect any special-category/sensitive data such as religion declarations, political opinions, health data, or biometric identifiers beyond what is inherent in your use of the App (for example, the App is religious in nature, but we do not store a profile of your beliefs).

If you contact us by email or other channels and voluntarily provide personal information, we will use that information only to respond to your request.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above for the following purposes:

  1. App functionality

    • Showing correct timings and sending prayer time notifications

    • Loading Quran recitations and religious content

  • Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or similar device IDs

  • Approximate location (e.g., based on IP address or network)

You can control ad tracking using your device settings (see Section 8).

5.3 Analytics Providers

We may use third-party analytics SDKs or services to understand how the App is used (for example, screen views, feature usage, and retention). These providers may receive device identifiers and usage data to generate aggregated statistics.

5.4 Service Providers and Hosting

If we host JSON or audio files or use servers for delivering content and notifications, the hosting providers may log standard technical information (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and operational reasons.

5.5 Legal Requirements and Protection

We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation or lawful request

  • Protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others

  • Detect and prevent fraud or security issues

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

6. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, our processing of your personal data is based on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent – where required for the use of certain cookies, tracking technologies, or personalized advertising. You may withdraw consent at any time via your device settings.

7. International Data Transfers

Our service providers and servers may be located in different countries. As a result, your information may be processed in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country.
